Taevaskoja Holiday Centre is easily reachable by public transportation. Read the information below to find suitable travel option for you.
First you need to choose an airport – Tallinn Airport (Estonia) or Riga Airport (Latvia). Some european countries have better and cheaper connection with Riga Airport and some with Tallinn Airport. When it comes to traveling to the venue place (Taevaskoja) then Tallinn Airport has much better connection, and when it comes to early morning /late evening arrivals/departures to /from Tallinn Airport then we will help you with your travels, and in case of need organize additional transportation. Riga Airport is convenient for traveling if your flight allows you to catch the buses to/from Tartu Coach (Bus) Station. We are not planning to organize additional transportation from Riga to the venue place. Read more information below.

!!! In the second half of 2017, starting from 1st July 2017 Estonia will be holding the presidency of the EU Council. Concerning this matter there are more large scale events and meetings happening that require higher security status and in that case there could more thorough control in the airports and for some days Estonia might restore it`s border control with Latvia. We will inform you if something like this will take place during our summer camp week. Concerning this matter it could also be harder to get flight ticket to Tallinn Airport, so that is why we suggest to buy your flight tickets as soon as possible.
!!! If you happen to have MasterCard or Visa credit card then we suggest you to buy the bus tickets on routes Riga-Tartu and Tallinn-Tartu online before you start your travel to Estonia, because these travel routes are popular and the tickets could be sold out quickly.
!!! Our venue place is ready to take us in and do check-in on 23rd July starting from 16:00. You can arrive to Taevaskoja before that, but you cannot do check-in. Taevaskoja offers possibility to store luggage.
(Lennart Meri) Tallinn Airport ⇒ Tartu
To get to the summer camp venue (Taevaskoja) from Tallinn Airport (Tallinna Lennujaam) first you have to drive to Tartu. You can get to Tartu by train from Tallinn train station (Baltic Station, address: Toompuiestee 37) or Ülemiste train station (located near Tallinn Airport next to the Ülemiste Shopping Centre, address Suur-Sõjamäe 4). The train drive from Tallinn to Tartu takes 2-2,5 hours and costs 10,50-11,50 EUR. You can buy the ticket in Baltic Station ticket office or from the train from the person on the train going around and selling tickets. The ticket could be purchased with cash or with card. There are no numbered seats in trains. You can choose where you want to sit.

Second option to get from Tallinn to Tartu is to take a bus from Tallinn Coach Station (Tallinna Bussijaam) or from Tallinn Airport (Tallinna Lennujaam) to Tartu Coach Station (Tartu Bussijaam). The bus drive takes 2,5-3 hours and costs 6-12 EUR. In Tallinn-Tartu buses there are usually numbered seats. Your seat is marked on your ticket. You can buy the ticket online, from the Tallinn Coach Station ticket office or from a ticket machine that can be found in Tallinn Coach Station and in Tallinn Airport before going out to the Airport bus stop.

Participants arriving to Tallinn Airport in then morning, lunchtime or early evening are expected to reach Taevaskoja on their own with some help from organisers.
Riga International Airport ⇒ Tartu
To get to the summer camp venue (Taevaskoja) from Riga International Airport first you have to drive to Riga Coach Station (address: Prāgas iela 1). To get from Riga International Airport to Riga Coach Station you have to take bus nr. 22. To get on the bus at the airport look for bus stop located opposite the terminal behind the car parking area on the right side. Frequency of the bus is 10 – 30 minutes, journey time to city centre takes about 30 minutes.
A regular ticket for one trip can be bought from the bus driver 2 EUR, but if you buy it before commencing your trip at the airport services and tourism information bureau “Welcome to Riga”, in a ticket vending machine at the stop of Bus 22 and in Narvesen press kiosks at Level 1 and 2 of the terminal then one-way ticket will cost you 1,15 EUR.
The bus nr. 22 will take you from the stop Lidosta Riga (Riga Airport) to the stop Autoosta (Coach station). Bus stop Autoosta is right in front of a big shopping centre Stockmann and cinema Forum Cinemas. Riga Coach Station is right next to Forum Cinemas, 5 minutes walk from Autoosta bus stop.
From Riga Coach Station you you can get to Tartu by bus from Riga Coach Station (Rīgas Starptautiskā Autoosta) to Tartu Coach Station (Tartu Bussijaam). If you don`t have the ticket then you can buy it from Ecolines or Luxexpress ticket office which are both located in Riga Coach Station main building close to the luggage storage. The bus drive from Riga to Tartu takes 3,5-4 hours and costs 13-18 EUR.
Bus: Riga ⇒ Tartu – LUXEXPRESS or ECOLINES
Important information to take into consideration when traveling from Riga Airport is that the last bus from Riga Coach Station on 23rd July leaves at 23:55 (arrives to Tartu at 03:35) and the last suitable public transportation bus from Riga Airport to Riga Coach Station leaves at 23:15. If you don`t manage to catch this bus then you would have to spend the night in Riga and take the morning bus to Tartu. If possible then try to plan your travels in a way that you would be able to catch 18:45 Luxexpress bus or 19:00 Ecolines bus from Riga Coach Station to Tartu Coach Station.
On 29th July the first bus from Tartu Coach Station to Riga Airport is at 03:10 in the morning (arrives at the airport at 08:00) and the latest at 07:20 (arrives at the airport at 11:45). If needed we can organise early morning transportation to Tartu Coach Station.
Tartu ⇒ Taevaskoja Holiday Centre
From Tartu it is possible to come by train from Tartu Train Station (Tartu Rongijaam) to Taevaskoja station. The train drive from Tartu to Taevaskoja takes 40 minutes and costs 2 EUR. You can buy the ticket from Tartu Train Station ticket office or from the train from the person going around the train and selling tickets. The ticket could be purchased with cash or with card.
There are no numbered seats in trains. You can choose where you want to sit. Taevaskoja train station is about 15 minutes walk away from the summer camp venue place. There will be a person at Taevaskoja bus stop waiting for you to guide you to the venue place.

Second option to get from Tartu to Taevaskoja is to take a bus from Tartu Coach Station (Tartu Bussijaam) to Taevaskoja. You can buy the ticket in cash or with card from Tartu Coach Station ticket office, with card from a ticket machine that can be found in Tartu Coach Station building, or on the bus in cash. In small distance buses nobody is usually following numbered seats. The drive takes around 1 hour and costs 4 EUR.
Taevaskoja bus stop is around 10 minutes walk away from the summer camp venue place. There will be a person waiting for you at Taevaskoja bus stop to guide you to the venue place.
